LEGAL SCRETARY / LEGAL PA / LEGAL ASSISTANT
FAMILY DEPARTMENT
SOUTHAMPTON
FULL / PART TIME

My client are a full service firm with offices across Hampshire. Home to seasoned professionals and accredited departments, this firm are gaining momentum and growth. With a commitment to the highest quality service and cost-effective advice, the firm are client focussed and aim to provide a personal and hands on service.
I am seeking a tenacious and efficient Legal Secretary to join the Family department on a full or part time basis. The Family department are requiring a strong, committed and personable individual to provide a first class secretarial service to both the professionals within the team and clients alike.
The Family Legal Secretary will be based in their Eastleigh office, conveniently located close to public transport links and the city centre. Providing a friendly and supportive environment for the Family Legal Secretary, this role will enable the successful applicant the opportunity to gain exposure to high value and complex family work, guidance and support and the possibility of progression in time. (This is not a position for individuals to 'keep warm' between roles. The firm are seeking a Legal Secretary who will commit long term.)
THIS ROLE IS NOT SUITABLE FOR GRADUATES.
The Family Legal Secretary will be responsible for:
- Providing a first class secretarial service to the whole department
- Dictation/Transcription (65 WPM minimum speed)
- File Management
- Client Care
- Document Preparation
- Form Submissions
- Diary Management
- All ad-hoc administrative tasks
Seeking a personable and passionate individual with the ability to think on their feet and manage a large workload, the successful applicant must have previous legal experience.
- Ideally, all applicants will have family experience but failing this, all applicants MUST have 1 years paid legal secretarial experience.
Due to the demanding nature of the Family department, all applicants must:
- Be an experienced Legal Secretary (1 year minimum)
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be extremely organised and efficient
- Have at least 65 WPM typing speed
- Be an effective team player
- Possess the ability to work 'smart' and manage time effectively
- Be prepared to manage client relationships - people from all walks of life
